(BSN) Accelerated Second Degree Program
Accelerated BSN Program Application Deadline May 15th
The School of Nursing is excited to
offer students an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
This program will allow individuals who have
earned a Bachelors Degree in another field the opportunity to complete
the course of study for a BSN Degree in 1 year.

Admission requirements for this program are
as follows:
(All Sciences, English Comp I, English Comp II, and College
Algebra must be completed with a "C" or higher)
1. Earned Bachelors degree
2. Cumulative GPA 2.5 or better on all college
work
3. English proficiency (English Composition I &
II)
4. Program required lab sciences (higher level
courses may be
substituted - see advisor)

Physiology I w/lab BIO 2201
b. BIO 2223 Human Anatomy &
Physiology II w/lab BIO 2221
c. BIO 2103 Microbiology with lab
BIO 2101
d. CHEM 1013 General
Chemistry I w/lab CHEM 1011
e. CHEM 1033 Intro to
Organic/Biochemistry with lab CHEM 1031
5. Principles of Sociology
6. Intro to Psychology or General Psychology
7. Three (3) credit hour statistics course
8. U.S. History or American Government
9. College Algebra or higher level math
Tuition and Fees for this program will be $15,600
with a portion paid each enrollment period. Please note that
this cost DOES NOT include books ($1000), uniforms ($60), malpractice insurance
($29), licenses expense ($330), assessment tests ($38) and attendance at
student nurse convention and disciplinary hearing ($155).
The cost of these items will be additional. Approximate costs are in
parenthesis.
Application deadline will be May 15th
Consideration will be given to students completing
specific prerequisite courses during summer session.
Student selection will be based on cumulative GPA
with special consideration for those with Spanish proficiency.
